「TEENS SQUARE TOKYO PROJECT 2025」

TEENS SQUARE TOKYO PROJECT 2025 is a program where teenagers from Tokyo explore and share their ideas about what makes a child-friendly city, through workshops on the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Basic Ordinance on Children and exchange activities with teenagers from overseas cities.
Participating cities in the Tokyo Forum of Young Minds (five cities):

Workshops: May to August 2025
Beginning in May 2025, Tokyo junior and senior high school students who were selected through a public application process participated in five workshops, where they discussed child-friendly cities from various perspectives, including climate change, child-oriented policies, and multicultural cohesion. The workshops were organized by different bureaus of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) and subject-matter experts, including Ms. Otani Mikiko, former Chair of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.

Tokyo Forum of Young Minds: August 20–22, 2025
The Tokyo Forum of Young Minds brought together a total of 36 teenagers: 17 from Tokyo, 5 from Brussels, 5 from Dublin, 4 from Surabaya, and 5 from Taipei. Across the three days of the forum, participants engaged in exchanges and discussions centering on the topic of “Our vision for a child-friendly city.”
